Javier Renteria

Javier has been in the vineyard industry for over 45 years and it has always been one of his dreams to make his own wine. He worked many years for Sterling Vineyards and Hartwell Vineyards before venturing into his own business. Together with his wife, Isabel, he started Quality Vineyard Management where he continued to hone his skills. He is known for his attention to detail in the vineyard and growing high quality fruit for exceptional and award winning wines.

With the help of master winemakers, Bob Pepi and Jeff Booth, he made his first vintage using hillside grapes that he carefully selected and supervised the growth of from one of the highest peaks in the Sonoma Valley. Javier wine has been well received at the annual Javier wine releases that he and his family have been putting together since 2005. Javier Cabernet Sauvignon has been included on the wine lists of some of his favorite restaurants including: Celadon, Torc, Bistro Don Giovanni and Cole's Chop House in the Napa Valley and Picasso and Joe's in Las Vegas.

Bob Pepi

In 1980, his father and he started a winery on the Oakville property, which had grown to over 70 acres of some of the best vineyards in Napa Valley. For over ten years as winemaker and general manager of Robert Pepi Wines, Bob's wines were best-sellers and consistent 90+ ratings-grabbers. While best known for the winery's popular Sauvignon Blanc and Sangiovese wines, it was his first Cabernet Sauvignon that Bob received a "Cellar Selection" designation from the Wine Spectator.

In 1991, Bob became general manager for the California operations of Stimson Lane, again producing award winning wines, including a Cabernet-based Conn Creek wine that received the highest Wine Spectator ratings of any Stimson Lane Label to that time.

With over 30 harvests under his belt, and considerable wine business background and acumen. Bob has a combination of skills and expertise that have made him a valuable asset. In addition to numerous California wineries such as Whithall Lane, where his wines have, again attracted 90+ scores and were twice among the Wine Spectator's top 100 wines of the year.

In 2000, a unique opportunity arose for Bob to enter into a long-term arrangement with an exceptional Napa Valley vineyard to utilize their grapes in the production of his Eponymous. A powerful Cabernet Sauvignon that has really tapped into the great pleasure Bob gets from making superior wines and brings to vivid life his philosophy that wine should be about fun and enjoyment.
